FOUR PEOPLE SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IN PRISON OVER ATTEMPTED MURDER

The chief magistrate for Fort Portal his worship John Kagwa has sentenced four people to serve seven year in jail over attempted murder.
The sentenced have been identified as Ronald Musabe 20 years, Jenifer Basemera 30, Amos 20 and Gorret Kakyo all residents of Katikara Rugombe town council Kyenjojo district.
prosecution heard that on the night of 9th October 2019 in Katikara,Rugombe town council Kyenjojo district ,the accused persons cut off genitals late Kagweri Clovis Maxwell when he was on his way back home.
According to prosecution, Kagweri was discovered by the residents that were passing by and saw him lying on the side of the road who rushed him to hospital in critical condition.
It is stated that the accused had been threatening to harm Kagweri over land issues and according to prosecution the evidence brought to court showed that they committed the offence.
Prosecution said that according to statement made by the victim, he identified one Ronald when he was attacked.
However, Kagweri was treated and healed but was later killed by some people believed to have had connections with the accused persons who are currently in Katojo government prison Fort Portal on charges of murder pending judgment.
Meanwhile after the judgment, Patrick Ganjangu a brother to the deceased commended the judiciary for justice that has been given to his brother even if he is dead.
