FOUR RUKUNGIRI STUDENTS ARRESTED FOR BURNING SCHOOL LABORATORY

Police in Rukungiri district have arrested four students of St Francis
Buhunga High School for setting the school laboratory on fire. The
four students have been identified as, Dismus Abaho, Alexander
Nasasira, Allan Niwenyesiga and Kasiita Sharif.
The suspects are all senior four students, are alleged to have set a
blaze the school laboratory at around 5 a.m. on Monday.
Anacaleti Twinomugisha, the head teacher of the school says that the
suspects were identified by fellow students who were heading for
morning classes. He adds that although the fire was contained, a
number of equipment in the laboratory were destroyed.
Twinomugisha says that the four have been threatening to avenge the
suspension of their colleague Sharif Kasiita over indiscipline.
Sylvia Kasoga, the officer in charge of Criminal Investigations and
Intelligence Department at Rukungiri Central Police Station says that
investigations into the matter are ongoing.
This comes days after the closure of St Gerald’s Secondary school
Nyakibaale and Makobore High school Kinyasano following violent
clashes between students.
