Rev Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda, the Kitanga parish priest has poked holes into the directive made by President Yoweri Museveni to the deputy IGP Major Gen Sabiiti Muzeeyi, to produce possible solution to the increasing criminality in the Kampala suburbs.
While addressing journalists yesterday in Mbarara town, Fr. Gaetano said that, endless crimes are on increase because Ugandans are poor, thus they have resorted to criminality for survival.
He called upon the government to establish better and working methods of alleviating poverty instead of what he termed as useless Operation wealth creation, Youth livelihood programme, Uganda Women Entrepreneurship programmes, which he said have not yielded fruits.
Fr Gaetano said that, if these government programmes were working and causing better livelihood to Ugandans, crimes would reduce drastically.
On Tuesday , Museveni through his social media pages directed the deputy IGP Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeeyi to find the solution to increasing criminality in the city within only two days.
