Security minister Gen. Elly Tumwine has said that security organs are watching unfolding events in Parliament.
He said what happened early this week in parliament seems to be an organized attack and targeting to spoil the name of UPDF which has come a long way.
General Tumwine added that people trying to do so are against the country and Africa as a whole adding that those not interested in having army representatives in parliament should rather amend the constitution.
He said as army representatives their role has been mainly to harmonize disagreeing factions in the house but not pulling guns to people.
Addressing a press conference at Lake View resort hotel in Mbarara, Gen. Tumwine said that he has never pulled a pistol on anybody and that he is one of the architects of the NRA code of conduct that has the toughest laws.
The four star General said that he understands how and when to use a gun and has lived on that code of conduct.
He accused the speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga for having condemned him to a disciplinary committee before giving him an opportunity to defend himself saying what happened to him in parliament is like a mob justice.
General Tumwine further said that he only approached Hon. Cecilia Ogwal in the parliament lobby and told her that what she alleged on the floor of parliament against him was a lie and that she disappointed him.
He promised to face the disciplinary committee and wished that everybody whom they think is indiscipline or found to have lied on the floor of parliament should also be sent to face the same.
Tumwine said he addressed the press conference to respond to what he called false allegations in order to assure citizens that he has not swerved away from the NRA/ UPDF principles.
