GERMANS EMBARK ON RAIN HARVESTING, COFFEE GROWING IN GREATER BUSHENYI

Dr Klaus Onnasch from Klohoshagan municipality has embarked on rain harvesting project in a bid to help the community in rural areas who move long distances in search of water.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com editor at Rukararwe Partnership for Rural development Centre at Nyamiko in Busenyi town,Dr.Klaus noted that the above project will go a long way to help people of Bushenyi get water for domestic consumption and irrigation.

Dr.Klaus who celebrated his birth day at Rukararwe on Friday told the www.mknewslink.com that Bushenyi and Rukararwe in particular is his second home because he came to live at Rukararwe in 1986 with the late Ambassador Sam Nyinebitahwa and began with tree planting campaign five districts of current greater Bushenyi.
The party was meant to appreciate the Germans for a two week visit at Rukararwe.They went back to Germany yesterday Oct.28,2017.
He is optimistic that the greater Bushenyi sub region gets more rain that surrounding areas get. He added that he and other Germans support many project in partnership with Rukararwe and Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality. The projects include Echo Travel where the Germans come to tour while going to Queen Elizabeth National Park and other places in Uganda.
They also deal with coffee processors especially Ankole coffee processors in Sheema municipality, anti-HIV/AIDS campaign in partnership with Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality and Rukararwe by supporting people living with HIV in addition to sensitizing people on dangers of the scourge.
