PM NABBANJA VOWS TO CONSTRUCT KATUNA-RYAKARIMIRA-MUKO ROAD IN KABALE, RUBANDA DISTRICTS.

The prime minister made the announcement on Saturday this week while speaking as the guest of honor during the fundraising for the construction of Rubaya Church of Uganda held at Rubaya Secondary School, Church of Uganda and government aided school in Rubaya sub county, Ndorwa West County in Kabale district where she contributed 30 Million shillings.
At the function that was presided over by the Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, the Bishop of the diocese of kigezi, a total of 156 million shillings both in cash and pledges and 416 bags of cement were contributed.
Nabanja revealed that 70 Million US Dollars from Asian Development Bank (ADB) are available and have been earmarked for the construction works of Katuna-Ryakarimira-Muko road.
Nabanja made the revelation while honoring a request from minister of state for trade industry and cooperatives David Bahati to make a clarification on the construction works of the road. She cited the delays for the construction works to procurement adding that the government is soon announcing the contractor.
The Minister of state for trade industry and cooperatives, Hon David Bahati who contributed 10 Million shillings extended sincere apology on behalf of the government on the delay of disbursement of 100 million shillings for each parish under Parish Development Model, a government initiative to eradicate poverty.
Bahati, who had earlier contributed 500 bags of cement, pledged to provide all the roofing for the construction of the church. Bahati also delivered a contribution of 20 million from the speaker Rt. Hon Anita Annet Among.
