GOVERNMENT TO ELIMINATE CORRUPT OFFICIALS IN SERVICE COMMISSION

The government chief Whip the Rt. Hon Ruth Nankabirwa Sentamu has assured Ugandans that government will not tolerate corrupt officials who have infiltrated the district service commissions across the country.
Hon Nankabirwa noted that government is aware of the corrupt officials who ask for money from the Ugandans who normally apply for the jobs at the district level.
She made remarks on Thursday while presiding over the belated International Womens day held at Ntungamo Municipal grounds under the theme, “empowering women through innovative approaches to social protection: a pre-requisite for inclusive and sustainable development”.
She commended the NRM government under leadership of president Museveni for being pro people that is determined to fight the graft through the establishment of Anti-corruption Unit and other agencies.
However, Hon Nankabirwa called upon general public to join hands to fight corruption by reporting such cases saying that those corrupt officials.
She pledged to pursue the issue of mismanagement and embezzlement of government funds at Itojo Hospital which was meant for renovation last year raised by the Kajara county MP Hon Timuzigu Michael Kamugisha.
Hon Nankabirwa promised to report the matter before the cabinet for discussion to come with the way forward.

Nankabirwa gave 3m shillings to 28 women groups which exhibited their products.
Ntungamo District woman MP Hon Beatrice Rwakimaari applauded government for recognizing the role of women in the development of the country.
Hon Rwakimaari condemned the rampant cases of domestic violence attributing it to parliament’s failure to come up with stringent laws concerning the vice.
