GRIEF! JOURNALIST SHOT DEAD IN MASINDI

Police in Masindi district are investigating circumstances under which a journalist was shot dead in the morning of Wednesday..
The deceased has been identified as Gerald Aseeraa news anchor attached to Kings Broadcasting Services {Kings FM 93.6}
Preliminary investigations indicate Gerald Aseera, was shot in the chest at around 12am by a private security guard at a soda depot in Masindi town.
“Aseera was shot dead last night by a private security guard. He was just moving in town and the guard suspected him of being a thief. He shot him in the chest,” a colleague who preferred anonymity told www.mknewslink.com
The journalist died moments after being rushed to Masindi General Hospital.
According to Rashida Tooti, an eyewitness at the hospital, the deceased was dumped near the children’s ward by unknown people at around 1am, and they suspected him to be a thief.
ASP Julius Allan Hakiza the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson told www.mknewslink.com that the suspect Ekou Simon 38, security guard working with Blue Whale Security Company Ltd and attached to Coca Cola depot Masindi branch is already in their custody to help in investigation.
His body is still at the hospital mortuary as police investigate the shooting.
