AM HAPPY, WEST ANKOLE DIOCESE IS FINALLY PEACEFUL—PRESIDENT MUSEVENI

IN BUSHENYI—
President Yoweri Museveni has expressed happiness for the concluded fights within west Ankole diocese that raged on for over four years.
Th president as said this today afternoon while officiating as a chief guest at the consecration and enthronement of the fourth Bishop of west Ankole diocese at Bweranyangi hill in Bushenyi district western Uganda.
“You have been in chaos but now you have become organized and please keep it up. Thank you very much for getting out of chaos” Museveni told a mammoth crowd of Christians at Bweranyangi hill.
Troubles in Bweranyangi began four years ago mainly between the immediate retired bishop of the same diocese Yona Mwesigwa Katonene and Christians from sheema district.
The infightings reached an extent where bishop katoneene was locked outside Ngoma church of Uganda in Rwabutura archdeaconry. The church was later opened by police.
Mr. Museveni donated a vehicle, 10 million shillings and offered to tarmac three kilometers from the main road of Bushenyi Kasese high way to the diocesan headquarters.
The new Bishop of west Ankole diocese Rt Rev. Can Johnson Twinomujuni gave a moving speech where he pledged to revamp the education sector, grow the diocesan sacco which is the Jubilee sacco among others.
He also pledged to fully unite the people of the diocese who have been sharply divided for four years now.
The Archbishop of the church of Uganda Stanley Ntagali offered to work hard and eliminate homosexuality among Christians as . He also asked Christians to work hard and fight poverty from their households.
