HOIMA NRM WOMAN MP CANDIDATE CLASHES WITH INCUMBENT, ADMITTED IN CRITICAL CONDITION

NRM candidate for Hoima district woman Parliamentary seat Beatrice Wembabazi aka Teacher Mummy was on Tuesday evening rushed to Edipa clinic in Hoima city after she was allegedly beaten into coma by the driver of her opponent also incumbent Hoima district Member of Parliament Harriet Businge aka baby face.

It is said that Wembabazi was beaten by Henry Gama, driver to the incumbent Businge when her team found the Businge’s team in Kapaapi sub county Kigorobya county, Hoima district while consulting a few of the voters in Kiryatete trading centre.

The two teams charged at each other and three people were injured including Wembabazi who was admitted in comma.

According to Christine Akugiziibwe, the political assistant of Wembabazi, Gama announced via a public address that he was going to beat them for contesting against his candidate.

Akugiziibwe adds that in few minutes, Gama grabbed the driver from the steering and started beating him before landing on the aspirant with slaps that put her into a coma.

However, Harriet Businge says her rival attacked her team intentionally to provoke them and cause a scuffle adding that it’s not true that Wembabazi was beaten into a coma.

ASP Julius Hakiza Allan, the Albertine regional spokesperson has confirmed that a case of assault has been registered at Hoima central police station under SD ref. 53/18/08/20 while the hunt for the culprit has started.

 Benedetti Plan, aspiring for NRM flag for Hoima Oil city parliamentary seat have condemned the act saying these are party elections where candidates will need each other’s support during the general election.
