HUNDREDS SEND OFF SHEIKH KADUYU

Hundreds of mourners yesterday Nov. 10, 2018 thronged Kitwe Rwentuha Bushenyi district for the final sendoff of Former Ankole and Kigezi districts Khadhi Sheikh Abdunoor Kaduyu who passed away on Friday this week.
Mr Museveni in his message ready by Minister of general duties in the office of the prime minister also Bushenyi district woman member of parliament Can. Mary Okurut Busingye also described the late Kaduyu as a person who was incorruptible, fair and balanced throughout his life time.
He added that Kaduyu had a sharp mind, was resourceful, informed, educationist and practiced politics of non-sectarianism among others and commended him for not being a wind vane politician thus calling upon all politicians to emulate him.
Museveni also noted that the late Kaduyu was a teacher and a consultant who championed education especially for the girl child.
The Mufti of Uganda his eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadan Mubaje who led the funeral service that was attended by different VIPs including the Bishop of Ankole diocese Sheldon Mwesigwa, the Bishop of West Ankole diocese Johnson Twinomujuni and other politicians pledged to intervene into the conflicts at Bassajabalaba mosque.
Mubaje described the late Kaduyu as non-violent person who liked peace amongst Muslims thus asked Muslims to emulate his legacy he left behind.
This was after the Bushenyi district chairperson Jafar Bassajabalaba asked him to have something done because as politicians they are tired of unending conflicts.
The current standoff in the Muslim community was sparked off in 2017 when some Muslims accused leaders of fraudulently selling a number of Muslim properties.
On Monday 5th Sheikh Mubaje appointed new Muslim leaders of Bushenyi greater who included Sheikh Shaban Kasimu as the acting district khadhi following a long leave that was given to Sheikh Mubaraka Katinama on request while Sheikh Munilu Ssebintu was appointed as a special envoy.
Others are Al Hajj Hassan Bassajabalaba, the new acting chairperson Bushenyi greater, and Mohamed Lukwago as the new acting chairperson Ishaka Bassajabalaba mosque succeeding Isima Bacondoza.
Bishop Twinomujuni delivered a message of love and reminded mourners that God neither created religions nor political parties thus aksing them to love one another besides their religion or political affiliations.
The late Sheikh Abdunoor Kaduyu 88 years, a Munyankore by tribe originating from Abahweju clan was born in 1930 in Butare village, Kyamuhunga Sub County, Igara County currently Bushenyi District survived with 31 children and as an advocate of education; he practiced what he preaches by educating his children in both secular and Islamic/theological studies.
18 of his children have degrees from several universities while 6 have diplomas from different institutions.
