The minister of innovation science and technology Dr.Elioda Tumwesigye also a candidate in NRM primaries in Sheema municipality parliamentary race revealed that he would have remained like a borrowed bull if he remained a Member of Parliament for Sheema North .
He said this at Kyagaju parish headquarters yesterday while soliciting for votes from the ward. He also campaigned at Rushozi parish headquarters with a big crowd that waited for him for a long time.
Dr. Elioda noted that his home and businesses are in Sheema municipality; therefore he would have remained a foreigner in Sheema North.
Elioda is currently a member of parliament and according to Rukutana Mwesigwa the Deputy Attorney General of Uganda, he is supposed to resign his seat after being elected MP for Sheema municipality on 19th July 2018.
Elioda’s candidature in Sheema municipality has sparked controversies with his seven opponents taking him to court and calling him the most selfish Ugandan in this country.
The voting day for NRM primaries will be known today and nominations for general elections will be on 4thand 5th June 2018.
