IBANDA: 70 PEOPLE TO APPEAR BEFORE COURT TODAY FOR DEFYING PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVES

Police in Ibanda district have arrested 70 people allegedly for failing to follow the president’s guidelines on coronavirus and curfew hours.
The District Police Commander, Ibanda, Ms. Emily Angomoku disclosed that 70 people were arrested while 26 cars and seven bodabodas were apprehended by traffic police carrying passengers during curfew hours in different areas in Ibanda district on Saturday night.
“Some of the arrested passengers were travelling in taxis, while others were on bodabodas heading to Masyoro landing site in L. George, Kicuzi sub county,Rushango town council, Bisheeshe, Ishongorero and Nyakatookye,” She said.
She added that others were arrested from the Bars while boozing after 7.00 pm, though others managed to escape through windows and went into unknown places adding that Police are still hunting for them to bring them in the black books.
Ms Angomuku told www.mknewslink.com reporter that the 70 people are to be produced in courts of law today Monday,15th in Ibanda district.
