Ibanda district has registered 10 COVID 19 related deaths as the number of patients in the district hit 92.
Ibanda District Health Officer, Julius Bamwine confirmed the matter yesterday evening during the Ibanda District covid 19 task force meeting held at the district headquarters.
Julius added that as of yesterday Thursday, 992 samples had been tested while more 80 samples were to be sent to Mbarara regional referral hospital for testing.
He further lamented that as the district they are still incapable of managing COVID 19 cases due to lack of resources like testing kits, Oxygen, gloves, masks.
He however noted that they have already mobilized for help from the neighboring districts though it is still limited.
Ibanda hospital medical superintendent Emmanuel Byaruhanga said that they are currently able to manage mild COVID 19 cases as well as taking blood samples which are then taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital for full test, though serious cases cannot be handled.
