The NRM National vice chairperson Al-Hajji Musa Kigongo has urged NRM leaning politicians to fight for free and fair elections come 2021 general elections.
He reminded NRM supporters to stop thinking that they work for the National party chairman president YK Museveni but rather work for the good of their nation.
Musa Kigongo was on Saturday afternoon leading a reconciliation meeting at Ibanda Mayor’s Gardens that was attended by flag bearers and those who lost in NRM primaries and are standing as independents on different electoral positions in Ibanda district.
Kigongo said that some NRM leader’s and registrars are not trustworthy and some of them alternated results on Declaration Results forms from different polling stations which caused confusion during primaries.
He asked both independents and flag bearers to convince people to vote
for president Museveni.
Kigongo later proceeded to NRM offices in Rushere Town council yesterday in Kiruhura district where he held a meeting with NRM flag bearers and candidates who were nominated as independents after losing in NRM primaries.
Independents have not yet bought the NRM’S idea of withdrawing from the race to have way for flag bearers
