A hot disagreement has emerged between the two districts of Ibanda and Kiruhura over appropriate place where to open the cattle markets.
Two cattle markets operate on the same day in their respective districts.
Resident District Commissioner, Ibanda, Mr. Eliasto Akatuheebwa told www.mknewslink.com that the Market at Kanyarugiri in Ibanda district has been operating for many years and that the traders , farmers from Kiruhura have been selling their animals from this market though Ibanda district has been getting the lions share from the sale of animals.
Mr. Akatuheebwa noted that of recent, the management of Kiruhura district illegally opened a new cattle market just near Kanyarugiri market.
He appealed to both districts to sit on round table so that they can solve their differences in an official manner.
However authorities, leaders and politicians in Kiruhura told www.mknewslink.com that they are operating the business on their land on every Thursday and are using their area of operation without interfering the leadership of Ibanda district.
The LC 5 chairperson could not be reached as his phones were off.
