A parish priest of Mabona church of Uganda in NorthWest Ankole Diocese of Ibanda district warned teachers in Anglican Church founded schools to fulfill the sacrament of holy matrimony.
Rev. Can. Jackson Begumanya made the warning during the annual general meeting of Manona primary school in Rukiri Sub County that was attended by Parents Teachers Association (PTA) members, staff, parents and pupils yesterday at the school.
He explained that the couples have been given days of grace by the NorthWest Ankole Diocese either to join the mass wedding ceremony which will be organized by the diocese before the year ends.
He said that the Anglican founded church schools will work hand in hand with education department to follow the laws governing posting of teachers in their schools so that those without marriage certificates are eliminated.
He added that, “Let us exercise the church bylaws of embracing the matrimonial marriage in front of pupils and parents to improve the church marriage especially the teachers who teach our pupils on religion.”
