IBANDA NORTH GETS FIRST SHEIK

Hundreds of people from all walks of life in the country yesterday filled the sports Arena grounds at Kyengando primary school in Nyamarebe Sub County, Ibanda North constituency to witness the consecration of the new Sheik.

Sheik Jafari Adams, 39 was consecrated as the first sheik for the Kyengando Mosque during the colorful function.

The county sheik elect arrived in procession of Imams and Muslim leaders amidst cheers led by singers. The colorful service was led by the Ibanda District Khadi, Sheik Yusifu Kalule.

Yusufu Kalule urged Adam to focus on preaching the word of Allah, unity, love and asked him to avoid the gospel of divisionism among the Muslims and other faith.

The consecration service was graced by the North West Ankole Diocese bishop, Rt. Rev. Amos Magezi who hailed the unity among the Christians and muslim community in Ibanda district.  

Adam aged 39 is married to two wives.
