IBANDA SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER DIES IN WITCH DOCTOR’S SHRINE

Police in Ibanda district are hunting for a witchcraft doctor over mysterious death of a teacher who had gone to consult him over his missing animals which were stolen by unknown people.
The O/C station, Michael Akaturinda said that David Mukundane 42, a teacher at Mwamba Senior Secondary School is said to have visited the shrine of Sowedi Byangire at Kyarukoobwa B in Ibanda Municipality council seeking help to recover his five pigs and ten goats which were stolen from his farm last week in Ntanga cell in Rukiri sub county.
It is said that Byangire demanded shs. 500,000= from Mukundane and promised him that within seven days his medicine would hunt for the suspects to return the stolen animals.
Seven days elapsed but Mukundane did not see any one bringing back his animals and he started to lose his senses and his life deteriorated
Family members say they rushed him back to Byangire’s shrine yesterday where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police visited the scene and took the body to Ruhoko health 1V center in Ibanda municipality.
Now, Police is hunting for Byangire who went into hiding after sensing danger a head.
Leo Mpairwe,the LC I Chairperson for Kyarukoobwa B cell, confirmed the incident and warned the people in Ibanda district to always take the sick people in hospitals and clinics where they can get proper treatment especially during this time Corona Virus.
