IBANDA SECURITY GUARD MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD AT NILE BREWERIES DEPOT

Police in Ibanda are hunting for assailants who attacked a Security Guard who has been working at Uganda Breweries Ltd Depot facility in Ibanda Municipality.
The incident took place at Kyabugaija Upper cell in Bufunda Division, Ibanda Municipality on Monday night. The suspects grabbed his gun, killed him and took away with his gun.
Paul Muhenda the officer in Charge of Crime Investigations Department at Ibanda Police station told our reporter that the late Levi Asinguza an employee of Millennium Security Company-Ibanda branch was brutally murdered at night by unknown assailants who later dragged his body and dumped it on Kashuuku street along the road side.
Muhenda who visited the scene of crime said that Police preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was cut with a panga and also hit with object like a hammer on the head, because he had deep cuts on his neck.
Police detectives recovered a hammer covered with blood stains at the scene of crime.
Asinguza’s supervisor Nalasisio Ndyabahika said that the deceased had been deployed for night duty with a gun registration number SAR which was taken by the assailants.
Asinguza hails from Kagongo cell, Kabaare ward in Bisheeshe Division, Ibanda municipality.
Mr.Edwin Asaasira the station Manager at Nile Breweries at Ibanda depot, told www.mknewslink.com that the deceased disappeared from his colleague he was guarding with at Midnight, only to be discovered dead yesterday this morning.
He however said the facility has active Closed Circuit television Cameras (CCTV) that will help police in their investigations.
Mr.Benon Keimutsya the Bufunda Division LC 111 Chairperson said this similar incident took place in the same place where people were killed and dumped on the roadside.
“We appeal to residents of Kyabugaija Upper cell to be more vigilant and concerned with their neighbors’ security,” Keimutsya said.
The body of Asinguza was picked by the Police and taken to Ruhoko Health Center IV for a Postmortem examination and no arrests have so far been made according to Micheal Akaturinda the acting District Police Commander Ibanda Police station.
