IBANDA SENIOR FINANCE OFFICER ARRESTED OVER EMBEZZLEMENT OF 28.9M UGX

The office of the IGG western Uganda has today arrested Ezra Nimusiima the senior finance officer at Igorora town council Ibanda district on charges of embezzlement.

It is said that Ezra Nimusiima while working in the same position in 2018/19 at Ishongororo town council received ugx 28,976,300 in form of local revenue but didn’t bank it.

Mbarara Regional Inspectorate Officer Fredrick Oketch has confirmed the arrest of Ezra Nimusiima, 50 years.

According to Oketch, Nimusiima while at the IGG’s office in Mbarara admitted that he committed the offence and he was immediately arrested.

Oketch told www.mknewslink.com that Nimusiima is expected to appear in anti-corruption court Kampala tomorrow, Thursday, March 25,2021.
