IBANDA SIX MONTH BABY RESCUED FROM SWAMP

IN IBANDA—
A six month female child was dumped into a swamp near a stream after being abandoned by her mother at a place called Kyarutanga village in Kashangura sub county,Ibanda district on Saturday.
The Baby was heard crying in the swamp by women who had gone to dig in their gardens in the morning hours thinking that her mother might have go to collect firewood or collect herbs.
According the four women who were in the gardens, organized themselves as a team and forced their way into the swamp . They were shocked only to find a health baby and good looking baby to be estimated to be six months old wrapped into clean baby clothes and covered with a blanket.
It is alleged that the unknown mother might have developed misunderstandings with her husband and dumped the baby into the bush. It is also alleged that the baby was dosed with sleeping tablets before she woke up and the its mother took off. The good Samaritans took the baby to the LC Chairperson who advised them to take her to Kashangura police station.
The District police community liaisons officer, Mr. Charles Bamparana confirmed that the police have received the baby and they have handed her to the staff of Ibanda holy innocent babies home at Ibanda hospital where she is being nursed. Mean while police are on the hunt for the mother of the baby.
