By Innocent Atuganyira
MASINDI: The Inspectorate of Government {IG} has ordered the office of Masindi district Chief Administrative officer to immediately halt any recruitment of workers at Masindi district Local government citing irregularities in the recruitment process.
In a letter dated 15th August 2022 seen by our reporter, the IG revealed that they recently received complaints regarding irregularities in the recruitment process to fill positions at Masindi district Local Government.
The positions in question include District Production Officer, Senior Assistant Secretary, Senior Planner, Community Development Officer, Senior Education Assistant and Senior Accounts Assistant.
In the same letter, the IG directed the office of the CAO to effectively halt the recruitment until thorough investigations into the matter are concluded.
When contacted, the district LC5 Chairperson Cosmas Byaruhanga admitted that he has received a copy of the letter.
He however said he was not yet aware of the irregularities prior to the IG intervention.
Our efforts to meet the district Chief Administrative officer in her office for a comment were fruitless. However, when we contacted her via phone, she confirmed the circulation of the letter on social media but didn’t disclose the details.
