IGARA BUHWEJU TEA FARMERS SACCO URGED TO EMBRACE TECHNOLOGY

The commissioner in the ministry of defense who is also a prominent businessman in Buhweju Eng. Johnbosco Kaliisa has advised the board, Management and delegates of Igara Buhweju tea farmers Sacco to embrace technology.
He noted that they need to implement technology so that members can pay loans, withdraw and bank using their phones and laptops.
Eng. Kaliisa said these and more on Saturday when he was a chief guest at third annual general meeting held at Igara growers tea premises in Kyamuhunga town council Bushenyi district.
Johnbosco kalisa who has been nicknamed by people of Buhweju as ceiling called upon all tea farmers who live in Kampala, Jinja and Entebbe, Mbarara to come and fix their money with the Sacco such that it doesn’t need to borrow expensive loans from other sources.
He bought shares worth 5m for himself, others for his children at 3m, bought a generator of 2 m for the Sacco and saved 5 M all totaling to 15m for which he issued a cheque to the Sacco.
The chairperson of the Sacco Ms. Adrine Kobusigye Domaro called upon members to save money in the Sacco, take loans then pay on time to avoid defaulting.
The treasurer of the Sacco told journalists that they are going to emphasize marketing and mobilization of new members to join the Sacco because there are many tea farmers who are not members of IGABU Sacco.
