“I’M AGAINST AGE LIMIT REMOVAL, IT FAVOURS MUSEVENI INDIVIDUALLY”- BUSHENYI MUNICIPAL MAYOR
By Wilber Muhwezi Kasibante
In Bushenyi—
The Bushenyi-Ishaka municipal mayor; Jackson Kamugasha has this afternoon broken his silence saying he is against the controversial Magyezi Bill that intends to lift presidential age limit cap, arguing that it favours only president Museveni individually.
In an exclusive interview with the www.mknewslink.com editor in his office at Bushenyi multipurpose hall, Kamugasha said all constitution amendments that have ever been done favoured president Museveni individually to cling on power, citing the presidential term limit that was lifted in 2005.
He said also the Magyezi bill intends to favour Museveni as an individual as he will not be legible to contest again in 2021 because he will be 77 years old.
Kamugasha revealed that it is quiet absurd for MP Magyezi to champion the controversial bill, arguing that if Museveni rules for life, Uganda’s economy will completely collapse while education and other sectors will remain limping.
He said Magyezi has become a total disgrace to Bushenyi district where majority of the voters do not support the controversial age limit bill.
