INTERDICTED THREE BUSHENYI ISHAKA MUNICIPAL STAFF HOLDING OFFICES ILLEGALLY AFTER INTERIM ORDER EXPIRED ON 11TH MAY 2020

Three senior staff of Bushenyi Ishaka municipality who were interdicted in April because of gross misuse of government money have continued to hold government offices illegally.
The interdicted staff include Jackson Muhwezi Beyendeza the treasurer,Deus Nuwagaba Baingana the municipal engineer and Rorbeto Nuwagira the procurement officer.
The interim order restraining municipal council from handing over offices ended on 11th May 2020 and it was never renew by the registrar Amos Kwizera according to sources.
The town clerk William Makune told www.mknewslink.com managing editor that because of the corona virus pandemic the court order wasnot renewed therefore is waiting for court for a way forward.
According to public service standing order when a public servant is interdicted he or she hands over office immediately and waits for investigations for only 6 months and when by 6 months the government has not completed the investigation,he or she resumes office.
What happened at Bushenyi Ishaka Municipal council was that after three senior staff were given letters of interdiction,they refused to hand over offices to their successor instead ran to court to secure interim order which expired on 11th May 2020.
According to www.mknewslink.com well conversant sources,the three are holding offices illegally and should be arrested by police, charged for refusing to hand over government property.
Relatedly Jackson Beyendanza Muhwezi is currently detained at Bushenyi central police station for allegedly forging the signature of the former town clerk Kiwanuka Kwavu to withdraw money from municipal account.
H ewas arrested on 12th May 20202,his home searched on 13th May and he is currently in police custody at Bushenyi police station.
