The director for rural development fund at UCC, Hon. George William Nyombi Thembo has urged the Kigezi region residents to co-operate despite the different political affiliations they subscribe to.
Thembo was representing, Engineer Can. Godfrey Mutabazi, the director UCC as the chief guest at the 2nd year anniversary of Boona Radio dubbed Ekiguutuuro kya boona FM at Rukungiri main stadium on Saturday July 27.
He said that for a place to develop there must be co-operation among the leaders and their electorates.
Nyombi noted that government will contribute 10 million shillings to the upgrading of Kyitazigurikwa primary school and promised to supply the school with computers and internet.
Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the state minister for housing and the Member of Parliament for kinkizi east constituency hailed the directors of Boona radio for thinking about such an investment that is boosting development not only in the district but the country as well.
Baryomunsi pledged a contribution of 1 million shillings to the impaired pupils section at Kyitazigurikwa primary school.
Santurina Namanya Kachene the station manager Boona fm asked the government to look at how journalists are handled during their course of duty noting that they work under intimidation which at times limits them from making the unknown, known.
