INVESTIGATE KABALE OPERATION WEALTH OFFICIALS FOR SUPPLYING AIR IN FORM OF APPLE SEEDLINGS

IN KABALE—–
Authorities in Kabale district are demanding for investigation into
the apples supplied by Operation Wealth Creation officers.
The authorities claim that the officers gave wrong reports of apples
supplied to farmers yet they have never received them.
The Kabale district vice Chairman Bridget Asinga Tumwesigye says that
the report the operation wealth creation officers submitted last year
to the district bearing names for beneficiaries, she was among yet she
did not benefit.
She suspects some other farmers might have been put by the officers to
account for the funds misused in buying and supplying apples, thus
calling for investigations so that the officers can account for money
used.

The Kabale district Secretary for Natural resources, production and
Marketing Johnson Baguma accuses the officers for distributing the
apples to non selected beneficiaries especially in Mwanjari in Kabale
Municipality. He says that they are yet to amount an operation to
ascertain all the farmers who benefited
The Kabale district operation wealth creation coordinator Lt Col
Charles Tebarura says that all the accusations raised by the district
leaders are baseless. He says that they were given only 10,000apples
seedlings to supply to farmers which was done genuinely and those who
picked the seedlings in Mwanjari were not authorized.
