ISHAKA DIVISION TO INSTALL STREET LIGHTS

Ishaka division political and civic leaders in Bushenyi Ishaka municipality have crowned 2017 with cocktail dance.
The belated function was held at the division council hall in Rwemirokora, Ward III.
Speaking on the side of a cocktail party Gilbert Boona Twinomugisha; the Acting Senior assistant town clerk Ishaka Division said they have earmarked on finding solutions to try and combat the problem of poor garbage collection in town.
Heaps of uncollected garbage are visible in most corridors within Ishaka town.
However, Twinomugisha says they are either going to give out tenders or purchase a new garbage truck because the garbage problem has become nearly overwhelming.
Twinomugisha said the decision to hire companies was taken a new approach because currently the challenge is that the only garbage truck the municipality provides keeps breaking down.
On top of this, the council often has to meet increased costs of garbage collection due to poor garbage dumping.
The division chairperson; Deus Mukyenga Owoyesigire said though the year had ups and downs, they managed to construct a pit latrine within Ishaka Central market.
He added that within a period of one or two months, they are commencing installations of street lights.
