JACK SABITI WANTS FDC PARTY TO OPT OUT RUBANDA ELECTIONS DUE TO EC’S ELECTION THEFT
elections in Rubanda district. The elections are slated for 29th of August 2016. The Forum for
democratic change leadership is divided between fielding the
candidates and opting out of the race.
A group led by Jack Sabit the former Rukiga county legislator feels
that fielding a candidate under the current electoral commission is
wastage of time.
Sabbit who was addressing a press conference in Kabale municipality,
says that the unfortunate part is that the same electoral commission
that cheated him and former Forum for Democratic change presidential
flag bearer Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye is still here to haunt them.
Jack Sabit however says that him and those opposed to sponsoring
candidates will not stop those interested in contesting from going
ahead with their planned move.
However the calls by Jack Sabbit have been ignored by the party
leadership in Kabale. Kabale district Forum for Democratic Change
Party Chairperson Lydia Turyahumura says that they decided to field
candidates to fight against fight the injustices head on and not
running away from them.
The deputy vice president in charge of policy and research Dr. Joseph
Tindyebwa says that he disagrees with the calls to opt out of the
elections slated for August this year.
He says that the right procedures have been followed and they have
come up with the flag bearers for all the competitive seats. He says
that consensus and participatory decision making are what rule in the
Forum for Democratic change.
FDC has fronted Vastine Katushabe Mutatina as Member of Parliament
flag bearer and Ambrose Tumukunde as their candidates as Rubanda
district chairperson in the forthcoming general elections.
