JAFFARI BASSAJABALABA TO CHIEF JUSTICE OWINY DOLLO—-YOUR RETIREMENT TALK IS MISPLACED
In Bushenyi—
Bushenyi district chairman Jaffari Bassajabalaba has strongly criticized the chief justice of Uganda Alfonse Owiny Dollo on his advocacy for lifting retirement age for judicial officers.
Jaffari Bassajabalaba recently said this at Bushenyi multipurpose hall while addressing retired staff of Bushenyi local government and those preparing to retire.
Recently the chief justice Owiny Dollo openly said that the retirement age for justices of the Supreme Court are 70 years while other judicial officers retire at 60 and 65 years.
However, Jaffari stressed that at 70 years, the judges are already old and have served enough.
According to Jaffari, judicial officers at 70, 60 and 65 years would have got exhausted therefore they should retire and work as consultants, opinion leaders among others.
