JANET MUSEVENI VOWS TO END SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN UNIVERSITIES

Minister of education and sports Janet Kataha Museveni has vowed to reverse the increasing cases related to sexual harassment in Universities within country.
Janet Museveni who is also the first lady said sexual harassment does not only violet rights of students but derail the reputation of the great institutions
Speaking during the launch of Kabale University annual open day held at the university grounds in Kabale Municipality yesterday the first lady also commented on University strikes and urged students to always embrace dialogue as a method of resolving conflict rather than taking to the streets.

Janet Museveni said although noted that Ministry of education and sports is totally committed to finding solutions to challenges that derail the purpose of the country’s education called upon the university councils to work with staff, students and management towards eliminating such crises so as to create a conducive learning and teaching environment rather than simply play blame games.
The Kabale University Chancellor Professor Mondo Kagonyera said that there is no way students will develop themselves into future leaders when they continue to involve in violent behaviours.
