JAPAN GOV’T EXTENDS WATER TO RUBIRIZI DISTRICT WORTH US$ 97442

IN RUBIRIZI—-
Japanese Ambassador in Uganda has yesterday handed over a multi-dollar water project to residents of Mushumba in Bunyaruguru Constituency in Rubirizi district.
The project which cost US$ 97442 named “the project for Improvement of Access to Safe Water” was handed over by the Japan Ambassador to Uganda Kazuaki Kameda to the community of Rubirizi.
In his remarks the Ambassador Kameda said that the Japanese government is targeting to help rural population to make sure that they also get access to improved services as government always concentrates in urban areas.
Kameda called upon the locals to make sure that they sustain the project if they are to benefit from it for so long.
The project coordinator who is the Rubirizi district Vice Chairperson Ben Mubangizi said that this project has already started to help the locals as the number of people who drawn in water has reduced, Water born diseases have also reduced and even the price of safe water has also reduced.
This project started in 2011 and it serves all the seven parishes in Ryeru Sub County in Bunyaruguru Constituency Rubirizi district.
