JEMIMAH BUHANDA’S INTEREST TO RUN FOR SHEEMA LC5 SEAT AT STAKE AS HUSBAND SMEARS MUD ON HER

In Sheema—
The family of Mzee Buhanda Erimonsi and wife Jemimah Tumwijuukye Buhanda of kyabandaara ward, Sheema municipality has been torn-apart following the latter’s declaration to run for Sheema District chairperson Lc5 in 2020/2021 general elections.
According to Buhanda, his wife Jemimah who is the former Deputy speaker Bushenyi District is too irresponsible, aged and unhealthy to run on the Lc5 seat for Sheema District.
Buhanda adds that she should instead be mentoring young people who are coming to join politics.
“She has got all opportunities in politics because she spent many years in politics, we have already educated our children…our grandchildren have also started working for the government so what is she looking for?” Charged Buhanda told media.
He has persistently assented that his wife can’t manage the district at 61 before openly declaring that he will not vote for her if she insists to stand
He added that he called a family meeting and children asked their mother to step down in vain.
Buhanda has since banned all political meetings and gatherings from their house.
However, Jemimah said that it is her big opportunity to face off with male dominated race noting that she can’t be disrupted by a mere disagreement with her husband.
Sheema District Lc5 race includes Jemimah Buhanda, former district vice Chairperson Elidard Mwesigye, former commissioner of police Laban Muhabwe and Can. David Kabigumira the incumbent Sheema District Lc5 chairperson among others.
