JIM MUHWEZI’S OPPONENT TURYAMUHWEZA PLEDGES TO TAKE TO SCHOOL ALL CHILDREN FROM HUMBLE FAMILIES

The Rujumbura county Member of Parliament Hon. Fred Turyamuhweza yesterday officially launched his manifesto that contains what he will do in the second term if people of Rujumbura re-elect him.
Hon. Turyamuhweza who defeated Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi of National Resistance Movement (NRM) in 2016 general elections is again battling for the Rujumbura parliamentary seat with Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi, Silivin Gumuriza of Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) and Grace Muhoozi Mugasha an independent candidate.
While launching his manifesto at Jade gardens in Bikurungu town council Rukungiri district, Turyamuhweza of FDC highlighted a number of areas that he plans to work on if re-elected as the area.
Turyamuhweza promised to improve service delivery in the county, pledging to provide free education services for all school going children with humble family background since he has already bought land for the construction of community schools in Bugangari sub- County.
He pledged changes in governance, health, , human rights, water and electricity extension, fighting corruption, promotion of trade and industry, promotion of agriculture among others.
Turyamuhweza also promised to continue fighting poverty, road and bridge construction and promotion of tourism industry since Rujumbura nears a lot of tourist attractions like l. Edward and queen Elizabeth national Game Park.
It should be remembered that Hon. Turyamuhweza lost 2 times to Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi of NRM for the same seat. In 2001 general elections Turyamuhweza got 18 %, in 2011, he polled 40% while 2016, Turyamuhweza gunned Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi with 60% thus his victory after 15 years of struggle .
