JOURNALISTS ARRESTED ON WAY TO PETITION IGP OVER POLICE BRUTALITY

Police have today morning arrested a group of journalists including their leader Kazibwe Bashir as they headed to Naguru Police headquarters to petition the IGP Ochola Okoth over harassment by officers.
The arrested have been identified as a daily monitor photo journalist Abubaker Lubowa, Alex Esagala and others as they were matching and carrying placards reading like prosecute police officers who brutalize scribe.
However, according to our sources, the above arrested journalists have been released but they vowed to continue to Naguru Police headquarters to meet the IGP Ochola and hand to him their petition over continued police brutality on them.
Journalists accuse police officers of harassment and brutality put on them when they were covering a last week demonstration at Makerere University.
They were beaten and many survived injuries plus their professional equipments being destroyed.
