JUSTICE KAROKORA LAID TO REST, PRINCIPAL JUDGE BAMWINE CONCERNED OVER MISCONDUCT IN JUDICIARY

The Principal Judge of Uganda Yorokamu Bamwine has expressed concern over the increasing cases of misconduct in the judiciary caused by lack of satisfaction and greed.
Cautioning against bribery corruption among others, the principal judge said they are caused by ‘the generation wanting to live an expensive life at an early age’.
Bamwine was accompanied by many government officials, including former Chief Justice Benjamin Odoki, ministers; ICT’S Elioda Tumwesigye,Justice & constitutional affairs Kahinda Otafiire, and others, as he represented the Chief Justice Bart Katurebe on the sendoff ceremony of fallen former supreme court justice Alfred Karokora who was laid to rest at his home in Ruharo Kamukuzi division Mbarara city on Wednesday,September 4,2019.
The judiciary condolence message came with Shs 5 million cash, plus President Museveni through the 2nd deputy premier Kirunda Kivejinja promising 30 million. Kivejinja personally gave 10 million cash.
Alfred Karokora is survived by two widows, Mary and Ann Karokora, 9 children and many grand children.
Karokora succumbed to high blood pressure on Friday, August 30, 2018, at the age of 83.
Karokora was a member of the Judicial Service Commission during which, he contributed to the selection and recruitment of Judicial Officers in Uganda.
