In Bushenyi.
Bushenyi Resident District Commissioner Ms. Jane Asiimwe Muhindo has closed Kabagarame pork market over COVID 19.
Ms. Jane Asiimwe Muhindo had earlier issued strict guidelines for Kabagarame pork market as COVID 19 cases surge.
In a letter dated 10th.June.2021 addressed to the management Kabagarame market traders association, the RDC noted that only 20 people should be allowed to sell pork per week.
She added that prepared pork should be packed so that the buyers could take it home (take away).
The RDC in her letter argued that these measures would prevent people from congregating at the weekly pork market which is likely to increase the spread of COVID 19.
However, traders failed to agree among themselves and choose 20 people to work in the first week as directed by the RDC. She thus closed the market until further notice.
Kabagarame pork market is one of the hot spots where people congregate on every Saturday to enjoy pork.
