In Kisoro—
Grade one magistrate’s court in Kisoro has granted bail to 5 people charged with threatening violence on Members of Lift up Jesus church Kabale.
The accused who were given bail yesterday are; Martin Ahimbisibwe, Charles Turyatemba, Consum Mbabazi, Jadow Marireba, and Annah Nyiraneza all from Hope mission in Kisoro District.
Each of the accused was granted a sh 50,000 cash bail and their sureties were tasked to pay a non cash bail of sh 5million each and they are to appear before the same court on 28th Feb.2022
Court lead by his worship Raphael Vuenn heard that on 31 August 2021, Rubuguri leaders Including the Mayor Nicholas Hakiza, Deus, Rubs and the 5 suspects went to Rubuguri Lift up Jesus church and voted out members of Lift up Jesus church.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com reporter after the court session, Bishop Aloysius Kiiza the overseer of Lift up Jesus Global Ministries said that the 5 accused are from other religions and do not pray from Rubuguri Lift up Jesus church.
The Bishop said that it was so unfortunate that Batwa community who were using the church were also chased away and the accused whom he alleged were funded by Hope Ministries started threatening the Batwa and Bishop Himself to cut them into pieces if they risked coming back to the church.
Our reporter tried to reach out to the lawyer of the 5 accused Solomon Sadam for a comment but all was in vain as he kept on dodging us.
