KABALE: ARMED MEN ROB MONEY CHANGER OF OVER UGX 10 M

Police in Kabale have arrested one man and are hunting for three others for allegedly kidnapping and robbing money changer at Mayengo along Katuna Kabale road
According to Elly Maate the kigezi region police spokesperson yesterday 9th Oct.2019 at around 12:30 hours, unknown people traveling in an army Pajero whose number plate was not established ,armed with a pistol, kidnapped Semwogerere Kijwengye a money changer at Katuna boarder and drove him in his own vehicle reg. no UBE 981F.
Maate said that immediately security learnt of it, deployment was made on all access roads within the region and the suspects were intercepted at Kisizi hospital.
He noted that fortunately, they arrested one of the four assailants in full army combat who claims to be Twebaze Bahram 31 yrs of Ruku village Kagunga Subcounty Rukungiri district while the other three in civilian clothes escaped using their Pajero vehicle.
The victim was alive but they had taken his money 10 million plus. The suspect claims he is not an army man but used the attire that belongs to his brother in Somalia.
Inquiries are underway to establish the particulars of his associates, and whether truly he is a civilian or otherwise.
