KABALE CATHOLIC CATECHIST DROWNS ON L. BUNYONYI

Marine police on Lake Bunyonyi are tracing for the body of a 35 year old man who drowned today morning.

According to Elly Maate the Kigezi Police Regional spokesperson, identified victim as Kizabona Nafutali a catechist at Kayanga Catholic church Murambo parish Butanda sub county Kabale district.

Police investigations reveal that this morning 19/07/2021 around 7:00hrs while in the middle of the water at Lake Bunyonyi, the catechist drowned after a local canoe he was using capsized.

Maate noted that Marine police were notified, visited the scene and established that he didn’t use protective gears and lost balance of the canoe which caused it to capsize.

Efforts to trace his body are being made so that he is given a decent burial.
