The Kabale district Chief Administrative Officer Ntimba Edmond has threatened to arrest any LC Chairperson who will be found charging people to give them stamp.
Ntimba was on Thursday speaking to the media after a handover function of government official stamps to LC11 and LC 111 chairpersons in Kabale district at Rukiko hall.
The CAO said that they are aware of the chairpersons who charge some money to locals during stamping which he condemned urging that whoever is caught will be arrested and charged accordingly.
He noted that people have been duplicating official documents such as travel documents, transfers, and recommendation letters because LCI and LCII Chairpersons have not been using official stamps.
He however appealed to the local council chairpersons to sensitize people about education especially on UPE and USE,and how to eradicate poverty among their families
However, the Kabale district chairperson LCV Patrick Besigye Keihwa assured all the LC1 chairpersons that their wages will be increased from 120000 annually to un specified amount of money.
Keihwa added that the ministry of local government is already working on the matter to ensure that it’s handled very soon.
