KABALE DISTRICT COUNCIL ELECTS COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSONS

IN KABALE—–
The Kabale District Council chaired by Kabale District Speaker, Hon. Fravia Nyinakiiza Kanagizi convened towards easter to re-elect the three heads of committees for their second term, following the expiration of their initial two-and-a-half-year tenure.
Ms. Lydia Turyasingura, representing the Southern Division, retains her position as Chairperson for the Health, Education, Sports, and Community-Based Services Committee. Champion Baker Turyamureba, councilor for Kahungye Sub-county, continues to lead the Production, Marketing, Natural Resources, Trade, Industry, and Local Development Committee. Richard Mporera, representing the interests of elders, remains Chairperson for the Finance, Planning, Works, and Technical Services Committee.
This happened towards easter when Kabale District council were laying a draft budget estimate for the 2024/25 Financial Year, totalling to 49,154, 823,000(Forty-Nine billion, one hundred and fifty-four million, eight hundred and Twenty-three thousand shillings only).
The motion for laying of the draft budget estimates was presented by the District Chairperson, Nelson Nshangabasheija, during the district council that was held in the district Council hall and chaired by the Speaker, Flavia Nyinakiiza Kanagizi, before it was unanimously approved by the council
Expressing gratitude to the Almighty God and fellow councillors, all three committee heads pledged unwavering commitment to improving public services. They extended appreciation to constituents for their support and vowed to uphold their trust by ensuring efficient service delivery.
Richard Mporera reiterated his dedication to advocating for the rights and welfare of elders within the district. He emphasized the importance of involving elders in governmental programs for comprehensive community development.
Addressing speculations, Ms. Lydia Turyamureba dismissed rumours regarding her future candidacy for the district counsellor seat representing Southern Division. Asserting her energy and capability, she urged constituents to disregard such misinformation.
In her remarks, the District Speaker commended councillors for their cooperation with committee heads and urged continued collaboration for the advancement of Kabale District.
