KABALE DISTRICT LEADERS SUSPEND CONTRACTOR AT BURAMBA HCII OVER SHODDY WORK

Kabale district leaders have suspended Sagma technical services LTD ,an engineering company that was contracted to upgrade Buramba health Centre 11 to health Centre 111 over shoddy work.
The decision was made yesterday when the district leaders visited the building site after receiving several complaints from the concerned residents and local leaders accusing the site engineer of using fake materials.
The district leaders headed by the district LCV chairperson Patrick Besigye Keihwa and the Chief Administrative Officer Ntimba Edmond ordered the contractor head Mr. Paddy Mwesigwa to expel the site engineer and pause the work until two weeks.
According to the contract that was signed between the company and Kabale district Local Government in January this year, the construction process was supposed to done by late July this year.
Sagma was awarded 650 million Shillings to set up a health facility and staff quarters at Buramba Rubaya subconty Kabale ditrict.
Mr Julius Barusya , the chairperson health committee Kabale district who doubles as the Kamuganguzi sub county district councilor said that during construction, he witnessed low cement to sand ratios and substandard blocks.
He said that their pleas to Sagma technologies and contractors to have the mistakes rectified fell on deaf ears.
Eng. paddy Mwesigwa , the director Sagma technology LTD and the Kabale district engineer Janurario Bagamuhunda didn’t pick our repeated calls for a comment.
