KABALE FDC YOUTH LEADER ON THEFT CHARGES

Police in Kabale is holding a Forum for Democratic Chang-FDC youth league Chairperson over alleged burglary and theft.
The suspect is identified by police as Rena Stanislaus Owamani, (26) commonly known as Kakimbiri; a resident of Butobere ward division;in Kabale municipality.
It is alleged that on Sunday night Kakimbiri burgled into a house of Everest Tugeineyo; a businessman of Kigongi A, central division, Kabale municipality and stole property including a coat that had a wallet with 450,000 shillings, a National Identity card and other relevant documents.
Tugeineyo says that he was informed by neighbors that someone had broken into his house. On reaching home, Kakimbiri ran out of house through the hind window and he was arrested by residents assisted by police. On his arrest,he was found with the stolen properties.
The Kigezi regional police spokesperson; Elly Maate says that when Kakimbiri reached the police station, he was searched and found in possession of a Smartphone which was stolen on 30th December, 2017 from a home of Diaz Maniragaba of Igabiro Cell, Mwanjari ward, Kabale municipality.
Maate says that Kakimbiri has been on police wanted list on other theft cases of phones, and other items. He appeals to all people who had reported cases of theft to cooperate with police in order to have Kambiri prosecuted.
He expressed surprise as why such a young and energetic man spends his valuable time in committing crimes.
However Kambiri denies all the allegations, arguing that the alleged stolen coat belongs to him.
