KABALE GRADE 1 COURT SENTENCES MAN TO 4 YEARS IN PRISON

The Kabale Grade I Magistrates Court has sentenced a 46 years old man to four years in imprison for defrauding Ugx 19.5M from Kabale business woman.
Court that was presided over by the Kabale Grade I Magistrate Julius Mutabazi heard from prosecution led by Rachael Nkwanzi that Lauben alias kafeero obtained Ugx 19.5 Million from Dorcus Asinguza promising to go in a joint Irish potatoes growing venture with her.
Prosecution told court yesterday that Nyakarasi while obtain the money it was money that was meant for hiring land to cultivate, seeds and to hire a vehicle and after getting the money he switched off his phones but was later arrested after tracking him phone number.
Nkwanzi asked court that Nyakarasi be sentenced to a maximum sentence of 5 years as nth accused having know had committed the crime and he denied leading to a full trial as he took advantage of Asinguza who was naïve and misused the trust that she had put in him and gave him Ugx 19.5m.
While delivering the judgment Mutabazi said that Nyakarasi well knowing that used the high level of manipulation when he knew he was not going to do the but went on to extort money from her leading top great economic in convince it was then that he sentenced him to 4 years in prison but he is to serve 2 years and 8 months having been on remanded for one year and four months.
Mutabazi also ordered him to refund the Ugx 19.5m that he obtained from Asinguza
