KABALE LCI CHAIRPERSON CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER OF SECRETARY FOR DEFENCE

Chief magistrate’s court in Kabale yesterday charged and granted bail to the Hamurara Village Chairperson in Bubaare Sub County Rubanda district over attempted murder of his secretary for defense.
Prosecution told court presided over by the Kabale chief magistrate Julius Borore Kyaka, that on 9th August 2020 Deus Bonane alias Buni the local council I Chairperson of Hamurara village Nyamiyaga parish Bubaare Sub County while at Hamurara village, unlawfully attempted to cause the death of Moses Tumusiime his village defense secretary by hacking him, contrary to section 204(a) of the penal code act.
However, Bonane pleaded not guilty to the charges and the prosecution told the court that police are still investigating the case.
Bonane asked the court to grant him bail on grounds that he is suffering from boils in the anus and needs to get medical attention.
His worship Borore granted him a cash bail of 500.000 shillings and each of his three sureties was bonded 10 million non cash.
The sureties included Medard Agaba, a 57-year-old resident of Rwembugu village in Bubaare Sub County, Silver Byasigaraho, a 58-year-old resident of Rwamutasa village in Bubaare Sub County and Bonane’s wife.
Chief magistrate Borore then adjourned the case till 3rd September 2020 when it will come up for mention.
