KABALE LCI CHAIRPERSON, SECRETARY ARRESTED OVER RESIDENT’S MURDER

Police in Kabale have arrested LCI chairperson and her secretary to help in investigations, over an allegedly murder of a 38 year old man
The suspects are Peninah Akandinda the chairperson local council of Karambwe village Rugarama parish Maziba Sub County and her secretary one Medius Orikiriza.
The deceased is one Benard Kanyarutokye, a casual worker resident of the same address.
It’s alleged that on the 14/06/2022 at around 8pm at Karambwe village, Justus Ndinabo a teacher at Kagunga primary school, found out that his ten bunches of bananas had been stolen from his compound.
He reported the matter to the local council chairperson one Akandinda Peninah who organised other chairperson LC1s of Nyamuhemura and Katukura villages plus their residents and made a search from the home of the deceased, and recovered the ten bunches of bananas from the house.
The deceased was arrested, tied both hands, beaten to using sticks, bicycle wire padlock and kicks, from 8pm to around 1230hrs when he passed on.
A report of murder by mob was registered at Kabale Cps by Jenipher Tindikawa 54 years of the above address.
Elly Maate the kigezi Region Police spokesperson says police last evening visited the scene, documented retrieved the body and took it to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Inquiries are underway and whoever will be found to have involved in the mob action, must be brought to book.
A case of murder has been registered at Kabale central police under the reference No CRB 420/2022
