KABALE MAN DETAINED OVER AGGRAVATED DEFILEMENT

Police in Kabale have in detention an 18 year old man on charges of aggravated defilement.
Kigezi Regional police Spokesperson Elly Maate identified the suspect as Reuben Mubangizi, a resident of Kasenyi village Kicumbi parish Kamuganguzi sub county Kabale district.
It is alleged Mubangizi had carnal knowledge of an 8 year old victim, a resident of the neighboring village of Kenyarwe in Bukora parish Kitumba sub county.
Maate said that on the 21/10/2021 at around 18:00hrs as the victim collected firewood with another girl younger than her in Kashenyi village, they met the suspect who instructed them to show him where they had collected firewood.
The Police PRO told www.mknewslink.com that it was from there that the suspect picked the older girl and defiled her after which he threatened to deal with her if she dared to reveal it.
He narrated that when the girl reached home, she informed her parents who in turn notified the area LCI chairman Gerevazi who put efforts and the suspect was arrested on 22nd October 2021 morning hence handed over to Kabale CPS.
Inquiries are ongoing and upon completion, he will be arraigned before courts of law to answer charges of aggravated defilement.
