KABALE MAN HELD OVER DEFILING A 3 YEAR-OLD KID

Police in Kabale District is holding a 36 year-old man over allegedly defiling a three year old girl.

The suspect has been identified as Paul Magezi commonly known as Magyeshi; a resident of Rutooma cell, Nyabikoni ward, Northern division in Kabale Municipality.

It is alleged that on Tuesday 01/08/2017 at around 08AM while at the same place Magezi met the victim with her two sisters going to school and called the victim into unfinished house before he had carnal knowledge with her.

The Kigezi Regional police spokesperson Elly Maate has confirmed the incident saying that it is unfortunate for a person who should be safeguarding a child to find that he is the one who defiled her.

He adds that the pupils reported the matter to the school administration that called the father and reported to police.

Maate confirmed that Magezi is detained at Kabale central police station and the case is registered under reference number CRB 2189/2017 and investigations to get enough evidence are still ongoing.
